NECAT is one of the 100 local nonprofits to receive grants of $100,000 each through Cummings Foundation’s “$100k for 100” program. Our organization was selected out of 479 applicants through a competitive review process. In total, Cummings Foundation has now awarded more than $140 million to local nonprofits.

“We admire and very much appreciate the important work that nonprofit organization like NECAT are doing in the local communities where our colleagues and clients live and work,” said Joel Swets, Cummings Foundation’s executive director. “We are delighted to support their efforts.”

With the support of the Cummings Foundation, NECAT will be able to provide more chronically unemployed and underemployed adults, and at-risk young adults, with the technical, job readiness and life skills necessary to secure and retain career-ladder jobs in Boston’s growing food services industry. We will also continue to provide wrap-around and job placement services to our students and graduates to ensure their long-term success.
