NECAT is pleased to welcome Martha Leahy as Deputy Director. Martha has over twenty-five years of experience in food services and management. She has worked as an Executive Chef for restaurant chains, as a Corporate Executive Chef for both retail grocery stores and in manufacturing, as VP of Purchasing and as a consultant. She also has extensive experience in teaching and leadership training. Martha holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island and the International Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italian Cooking in Italy.
Martha brings with her the experience of working her way up from dishwasher to Executive Chef of a twenty-restaurant company, which is sure to inspire many at NECAT. Martha has incredible management and strategic development skills and a deep commitment to quality – we couldn’t be more excited about Martha joining our team.
In her role at NECAT, Martha will oversee our Boston and Everett culinary job training programs, ensuring that NECAT provides the best possible services to its students and that we achieve our critical outcomes goals. She will also serve as a key leadership partner to NECAT Executive Director, Joey Cuzzi, helping increase our community impact, strategic partnerships and sustainability.
